Greetings, fellow Lunians! As you might already know, the much anticipated Eternal Lunia (ramancha.net) will begin open beta testing on 21st December, 2017. Are you new to Lunia, and perhaps confused as to which class would suit you? Fret not, igotdis... if you plan to be playing an INT-type that is. If you are completely new to Lunia: Lunia is an Action MMORPG. Unlike many other MMORPGs, skill is required; you will have to read enemy attacks, and dodge them. This is true even if you are playing as a tanker; while they do have defensive skills, they can't rely on them all the time. Likewise, a healer's most important role is not to permanently keep their party at full health, but rather, to save them from dying at the critical moment. If you are new to Eternal Lunia: Unlike other servers, Eternal Lunia will not focus on myth and ridiculously high stats. As such, skill is even more important than the depth of your wallet. In fact, at the time of writing, there are no functional items whatsover in the cash shop; it is purely cosmetic. Class types: The four main stats in Lunia are Strength (STR), Dexterity (DEX), Vitality (VIT), and Intelligence (INT). With the exception of STR, each class has a certain stat that will give additional benefits. The class type will also, to some extent, affect the character's playstyle.
If you decided to pick INT types, congratulations! I can offer some insights into the various INT types and their differences. (If you picked DEX or VIT, unfortunately, I can't offer much help and would suggest you look elsewhere for advice :( ) Eir Peltrow (Healer) S-Action: Draws a pentagram. One line is drawn every time S is pressed, and when S has been pressed five times consecutively, a large projectile which can push back enemies is fired forward. Alternatively, by pressing space before the pentagram is completed, you can cancel it and dash backwards. If S has been pressed at least twice, you can press A to instead fire a smaller projectile with slight induction. If S had been pressed four times, the projectile from A will temporarily put enemies to sleep. Noteworthy skills:
Eir is a healer. She has many of the best healing skills at her disposal. It may be worth noting that not only can heals be used to restore HP, they can also save allies from death (also known as fake-ress or fantastic save). While her buffs may not be impressive, they have the longest durations and the shortest cooldowns, making it possible to keep the party buffed. Eir can fight, too! While she is unlikely to be comparable to a pure damage dealer, her offensive skills should not be ignored. They can be used to defend yourself, support the party by pushing the enemies into a neatly organised group, or support a party member's air combo. Additionally, some of them can deal good damage, especially with air combo damage multipliers. There are three main ways Eir can be built, which will largely affect her playstyle:
Dainn Crowley (Wizard) Noteworthy skills:
Dainn is a wizard. He is capable of using ice, fire, and earth elemental magic. He is also capable of short range combos with magic. Yuki (Ice Wizard) Noteworthy skills:
Much like Dainn, Yuki is a wizard, but with only ice elemental magic. She can also do short range combos with her magic. Unlike other classes, she has no means of HKD, stun, or knockback. While this won't be much of a problem in the early game, HKD/stun/knockbacks are required for some stage and raid mechanics, typically to quickly destroy devices. Kali Eschenbach (Satanic Bard) S-Action: Press and hold S to regain MP for everyone within range. Much less effective than Dainn/Yuki's S-Action. At 0HP, it can work on allies, but not on yourself. Noteworthy skills:
Kali is a bard, attacking enemies or supporting allies with music. While not the only character who can restore MP to allies, she is the best at doing so. Dark Eir (Dark Princess)S-Action: Draw a pentagram, similar to Eir's S-Action. Unlike Eir, once S is pressed, the pentagram is automatically drawn until it is completed. Like Eir, the pentagram may be cancelled with space or A. When cancelling with A, the effect is based on how many strokes you have drawn; timing rather than number of S presses are key. Noteworthy skills:
Ah, I see you're a (wo)man of culture as well. This is my personal favourite character. Dark Eir is a dark magic user. She can best be described as a hybrid character, capable of damage dealing, healing, and surviving. With a variety of offensive skills, ranging from close combat to medium ranged, and comboing skills as well as bossing skills, she is a versatile character. Dark Eir is second only to Eir when it comes to healing. While her "Wave of Quick Healing" is arguably even better than Eir's heals, the rest of Dark Eir's heals pale in comparison to Eir's. Many of Dark Eir's skills gain additional effects, such as endurance effect or cancelability, upon reaching certain skill levels. As such, Dark Eir's effectiveness may be severely limited until she is at a high enough level to unlock the additional effects of her skills. Dark Eir Gameplay Video Arta Lorraine (Engineer) S-Action: Press and hold S to slowly raise your hammer, and slam it down when it is fully charged. Releasing S before the hammer is fully charged will slam it down, but with reduced effect. Noteworthy skills:
Arta is an engineer; she has a variety of gadgets and devices at her disposal. She also has luring devices that help with grouping enemies. Depending on the version of Lunia, they may be built into her skills, or come as an individual separate skill. As the only character who can craft her exclusive items, it may be worth leveling an Arta alt to supply your main character with items. Arta Gameplay Video And thus, that concludes my blog entry for the day. I guess it ended up longer than I expected. I hope this has helped you in selecting a character, but if not, feel free to explore the DEX or VIT classes. Happy Lunia-ing!
